CLINICIANS & SPECIALITIES

Urology

We are dedicated to delivering exceptional urological care tailored to meet the evolving needs of our patients. As awareness of men’s health issues grows and diagnostic methods improve, the demand for specialised urological services has surged. This increased awareness, coupled with a growing and ageing population, particularly affects the prevalence of conditions such as prostate cancer in older men. While the rise in detection rates is a positive development, it can also place additional pressure on urology services, leading to longer wait times. Our mission is to provide prompt and effective care, ensuring that every patient receives the timely treatment they deserve.

Treatments We Offer

Prostate Biopsy

  • A procedure where small tissue samples are taken from the prostate using a needle, often guided by ultrasound, to check for signs of prostate cancer.
  • Typically performed when a blood test (PSA) or digital rectal exam (DRE) indicates potential prostate abnormalities.

Lithotripsy (Shockwave Therapy)

  • A non-invasive treatment that uses shockwaves to break up kidney stones or bladder stones into smaller pieces, which can then be passed more easily through the urinary tract.
  • Often used for stones that are too large to pass on their own or in cases where surgery is not recommended.

Cystoscopy

  • A procedure where a thin, flexible tube with a camera is inserted through the urethra to examine the bladder and urethra for abnormalities, infections, or tumors.
  • Used to diagnose conditions such as bladder cancer, urinary tract infections, or unexplained blood in the urine.

Transurethral Resection of the Prostate

  • A surgical procedure to remove part of the prostate gland through the urethra to relieve symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), such as difficulty urinating.
  • Commonly recommended when medications or other treatments have not been effective in managing BPH symptoms.
